Personal Philosophy
What's a personal philosophy for a 15 year old high school student? How can someone know the words in which they will live their life by if they are basically just starting their life? To me a personal philosophy is not only words you can live by but also words that are important to you and will forever impact the way someone lives and acts.
Going into last year, my personal philosophy was to never give up. This was a saying I will forever live by, however does not completely serve as an explanation for a saying that will impact my life. As I thought more, I came to the realization that my personal philosophy is to live each day to the fullest, never giving up and being thankful for what you have. When faced with adversity, one must never give up. On the other hand, everyone should be grateful for the people they have in their lives and the lives they live, enjoying each day they have together. Going into last year my biggest problem was deciding which outfit to wear on the first day of school. Although that problem continues to perplex me, after facing many more life changing events, this year I realized how unbelievable grateful I am for my friends and family and how lucky I am to be able to do the things I love with the people I love. Last year I had a chance of dying, and lost two of my closest family members and friends. Following these events I know how important it is to not only persevere through struggling obstacles but also live every day as though it was your last.

More About Me
Family and Friends
Where do I even start.... My family is absolutely crazy, insane and loud and I would never ask for it to be anything different. All my family lives close by in Connecticut and I can not explain how grateful I am to be raised having the ability to be so close to my entire family. From my baby cousins to my older ones starting families of their own, we are a very tight bunch who make any occasion a party. In August of 2015 I lost my grandmother and in December I lost my cousin. Both of these tragic event were extremely hard for my tight-knit family and only brought us closer. They will forever be remembered and have a place in my heart. My friends are another group of people who I cherish with all my heart. When I went through my diabetes diagnosis, I was so shocked and pleased with how everyone acted and helped me. My friends helped me learn all the new information while holding my hand through all the pain and I cannot thank them enough. My friends are a great group of people who I can cry with, laugh with, and dance with all in the same night. Being in high school I realized the difference between quantity and quality of friends. You do not need a ton of friends. All someone needs is a few best friend who they can always count on. |
Interests
Hobbies All day, everyday, I am dancing. From walking throw the hallways at school to the aisles in the grocery store I am always creating new pieces in my head. My mind is always thinking about my next performance and how happy I am when on the stage. My team preforms the halftime shows at the Mohegan Sun for the CT Sun basketball team and for the Black Wolves lacrosse team. We also complete and preform in a parade in Disney World every summer. More recently we were the entertainment at the cystic fibrosis gala and preformed in the Nutcracker production for the New York Broadway company. Being a role model for the younger teams is very important to me since I want them to have the same passion I do for dancing. This summer almost everyday, I was either in the studio rehearsing or out on the water wakeboarding and water skiing. Being pulled by the boat and speeding through the water is an amazing feeling. My dad has always owned a boat as a kid and I'm glad he finally was able to share his favorite hobby with me. Now I love sharing the feeling with all my friends who have never experienced anything like it. Sharing this passion allowed for so many of my friends to find a new interest they have and after most trips out on the water they cannot wait to go again. I am already looking forward to next summer so I can be back out on the water. |
